Kenya discovers more oil deposits

Yesterday Prime Minister Raila Odinga announced that Kenya’s biggest mineral deposit has more oil than earlier announced by the President two months ago. The British firm Tullow Oil that has been exploring oil in the country has discovered oil-bearing rock of more than 100 metres in depth at Ngamia-1 well. The company will continue prospecting more oil at an adjacent Tullow Operated block 13T, the Twiga-1 and a further rig at block 10A Paipai in Marsabit County.
Martin Mbogo, Tullow Oil County Manager said that company is aiming to reach approximately 2,700 metres of the well in the next four-five weeks. The country though has to wait for few years to find out the commercial viability of the oil.
