Esther Wahome was crowned Mrs. Universe – Kenya at a
colourful evening ceremony held in Hilton Hotel on Saturday. Esther Wahome is an
award-winning gospel singer popularly known for her massive hit “Kuna Dawa.”
She will now represent the country at the Mrs. Universe Pageant
in Rostov, Russia on August 13, 2012. Mrs. Universe is an annual competition,
which focuses in not only physical beauty but also highlights the most
honorable married women from all over the word. The running motto for the
pageant is “Against violence.”
In Miss World 2012:
Kenya’s Shamim Nabil made it to the Semi Finals of Miss World 2012 for Top Model Category. Kenya was the only East African country mentioned in the list of 47
nations that included Nigeria, Gabon, Angola, Jamaica, South Sudan, India, Israel,
and China among others.

Esther Wahome, the only Black African competing for Mrs World Universe crown in Russia emerged the first-runners up.
The 37 year old mother of three thanked her husband of 16 years for his support and love.

Colombia's Layla Martinez,26, was crowned the winner. Wahome was third good finish.
