Social Media Awards 2012 slated for November

The 2012 Social Media Awards (SoMA) will be held on 10^th November at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi. The awards, which were established to honor Kenyan personalities who have had a great impact in the use of social media, will focus on three social media platforms that include Facebook, Twitter, and blogs.  

The awards will bring together leading organizations, marketing and communications managers, information technology experts, bloggers, among other social media enthusiasts.

The public is invited to nominate their favourites social media properties according to the outlined categories. Afterwards, judges will shortlist nominated properties and the top 5 properties in each category will be presented to the public for voting.  

The judging panel is made up of The Star Newspaper Editor and founder of www.nairobiliving.com James Murua, CEO of Socialight Media Ltd Marvin Tumbo, Kenya’s Social Media Guru Stephen ‘Syoks’ Musyoka, and Founder of popular blog www.savvykenya.com Ms. Harriet Ocharo.
