In line with realisation of vision 2030, the construction of
a modern export livestock slaughter house at Wajir County is underway. The
project which is funded by the government through the Economic Stimulus
Programme (ESP) is expected to cost Ksh 150 million and will handle 100 cattle
and 500 goats a day.
The abattoir will definitely benefit the neighbouring
counties that include Isiolo, Marsabit, Mandera and Garissa.
