Leading accounting firm Deloitte & Touche has disclosed
its plan to set up a graduate training academy in the country before September
in a move geared to diversification from auditing and consultancy.
The academy will recruit staff from companies and train them
primarily in IT and business related courses so as to meet the corporate skills
demand in the country.
Deloitte is targeting fresh graduates who are expected to enroll
for the 6 to 10 months programme at the facility. The academy seeks to equip
them with practical approaches to the corporate world as opposed to the
emphasis on theoretical skills in the Kenya education system.

Audit firm Ernest & Young has launched a fraud investigations and dispute
services unit in Kenya. Ernest & Young will follow the likes of Deloitte
and Touche, Price Water House Coopers and KPMG who provide such services.
