Kipchirchir, Momanyi win Sotokoto marathon

On Sunday, Victor Kipchirchir won the third edition of Sotokoto Safari Half marathon in a time of 1:01.45 in a race run in the capital. He was closely followed by Peter Kemilel who finished in 1.01.46 while Geoffrey Mutai settled for third place in a time of 1.02.13.

In the women’s race, Commonwealth champion Grace Momanyi powered to win in 1:11.42 ahead of Philes Ongori who finished in 1:12.57. Pauline Njeri posted a time of 1:13.09 to get the bronze finish.

Sotokoto Safari Half marathon is an annual race meant to conserve the environment and promote peace.
