On Monday, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) handed indefinite
suspensions on its Vice-chairperson Sammy Sholei and Nairobi branch chairperson
Dr. Dan Shikanda.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) has confirmed the
changes and its member Robert Asembo will now take the position of Sholei as
the Vice-chairman while Michael Ouma will replace Dr. Shikanda.
This comes after the two officials openly conflicted with the
other NEC members on numerous issues, some of which included corruption allegations.
In Athletics: National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) has
approved that 3,000 metres steeplechase world champion Kemboi is still in Kenyan
squad to the London Games.
Kemboi’s participation in the Olympics was highly in doubt
after he was charged with assaulting a woman in Eldoret. He is expected to appear
before court in September.
