Tiki Gelana relegates Priscah Jeptoo to Silver

Priscah Jeptoo came second to bag Kenya's second silver in a fascinating women’s marathon held in London Streets on Sunday afternoon.  

Ethiopia’s Tiki Gelana emerged victorious in an Olympic record of 2hours 23 minutes and 7 seconds, 5 seconds ahead of Jeptoo. Third place went to a resilient Russian, Tatyana Petrova Arkhipova who finished in a personal best of 2:23:29.

Double Marathon Champion Mary Jepkosgei Keitany finished fourth in a time of 2:23:59 while compatriot Edna Kiplagat came a distant 18^th.
