Kenyan marathon legend Dr. Paul Tergat has been inducted into Johnnie
Walker ‘Walk With Giants’ Hall of Fame which celebrates the life stories of
some of the world’s most inspirational men.
The five-time world cross country champion and world
marathon record holder will now join the likes of Living legend Haile
Gebrselassie, Formula One Champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, Explorers
Ranulph Fiennes and Amyr Klink, Marketing Guru John Hegarty and British
Billionaire Richard Brunson.
Ethiopia’s
Gebrselassie was the first African personality to be selected by Diageo to
promote the Johnnie Walker brand.
Tergat who was recently appointed Kenya’s representative at
the International Olympic Committee replacing National Olympic Committee of
Kenya (NOCK) chairman Kipchoge Keino; will
be part of the Johnnie Walker mentoring session initiated by Diageo’s East
African Breweries Limited.
Other Africans in the campaign include entrepreneur Prince
Kofi Amoabeng from Ghana, music maestro Manu Dibango from Cameroon and former soccer
player Samson Siasia from Nigeria.
