Mr. Michael Esakwa has been appointed by Football Kenya
Federation as new CEO and the Federation’s Secretary General. Esakwa who
has been the deputy secretary will take over from Joseph Agola who has been
appointed the Ag. Secretary General after the departure of Lordvick Omondi Aduda.
A statement from the Federation has stated that the
appointment was endorsed by the Federation’s chairperson and NEC members with the approval of FIFA. It has further stated that Mr. Agola will continue to serve
as FKF's Finance Officer.
Esakwa has previously served as secretary general in the
defunt Kenya Football Federation (KFF) Nairobi branch, secretary general at AFC Leopards and chairperson of Nairobi-based
Kakamega United.
The Kenya Football Coaches Association (KEFOCA) has lauded
the appointment as a right move to ensure the development of the game in the
country.
