Gitonga Bags Best Director Award at PAFF

David 'Tosh' Gitonga, the director of “Nairobi Half Life” has won the Best Director Award for a First Feature at the 2013 Pan African Film Festival (PAFF).

The festival which is in its 23rd edition took place between 7th and 18th of February and 154 films, representing 34 countries that is, 23 documentaries, 13 short documentaries, 67 narrative features, and 51 narrative shorts that were shown.

PAFF, America's largest and most prestigious international Black film festival seeks to present a broad spectrum of Black creative works, particularly those that reinforce positive images, help to destroy negative stereotypes and depict an expanded vision of the Black experience.
