Maasai Cricket Warriors & CK Win ICC Development Award

The Maasai Cricket Warriors and Cricket Kenya were on Thursday, February 28th feted at the 2012 Pepsi ICC Development Programme Annual Awards.

The team was awarded with the Best Cricket Promotion and Marketing Programme for their activities in sensitization on HIV/AIDS and Female Genital Mutilation as well as promotion of the cricket sport.

Below are the other winners:

• Best Overall Cricket Development Programme - Cricket Scotland
• Best Women's Cricket Initiative - Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (Royal Dutch Cricket Association)
• Best Junior Participation Initiative - Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (Royal Dutch Cricket Association)
• Best Spirit of Cricket Initiative - Vanuatu Cricket
• Photo of the Year - Cricket Peru
• Volunteer of the Year -Monir Habibi, Iran Cricket Association
• Lifetime Service Award - Gary Fray, Bermuda Cricket Board

Each winner received a US$ 2,000 grant to be used towards procuring cricket equipment.
