Kenyans Record Wins in Brighton & Vienna Marathons

Kenyans continued to reign supreme in international arena on Sunday winning the Brighton and Vienna Marathons.

Dominic Kangor crossed the finish line in 2 hours, 10 minutes and 46 seconds to win the Brighton Marathon.

Kangor broke the course record ahead of fellow countrymen Bernard Rotich and Robert Mwangi who came in second and third respectively.

In Austria, Henry Sugut led a Kenyan sweep of the podium winning the Vienna City Marathon for a record third time in four years.

Sugut clocked 2 hours, 8 minutes and 19 seconds ahead of compatriots Solomon Kiptoo and Geoffrey Ndungu who came in second and third respectively.

In the women's race, Flomena Cheyech of Kenya dominated the race to win in 2 hours, 24 minutes and 34 seconds. She was followed by the Ethiopian duo of Meskerem Assefa and Eyerusalem Kuma.

In the half-marathon exhibition race, Haile Gebrselassie emerged victorious for a third straight year. The Ethiopian great covered the 21.1-kilometre distance in 1 hour, 1 minute and 14 seconds.

In Netherlands, Kenya's Sammy Kitwara came third in the Rotterdam Marathon.
