Equity Bank CEO and Managing Director, Dr. James Mwangi is
the 2012 Ernest & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year, he was awarded at
the Monte Carlo’s Salle des Etoiles, Monaco.
This is the first time a person from East Africa has been nominated to the World’s most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs.
He cruised over of other 59 finalists picked all over the world, who had earned the Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in their respective countries.
Dr. James Mwangi has been at the core of the transformation of Equity Bank from an insolvent micro-finance institution to a publicly listed commercial bank with about 7.7 million accountholders.
Ernst & Young is a global accountancy firm that deals in assurance, transaction, tax, and advisory services.
