The fourth Annual Broadcast, Film & Music Africa (BFMA) Conference
will take place from 10 – 11 July 2012 at the Oshwal Centre, Westlands in
Nairobi.
The event themed ‘Innovation, Investment and partnerships
for local content and service excellence’ will have over 400 participants. BFMA
is organized by AITEC Africa.
East Africa will be buzzing with film personalities, as BFMA
will coincide with neighboring Tanzania’s Zanzibar International Film Festival
(ZIFF) that take place from 7 – 15 July.
Kenya’s Film industry will be represented with CEO of Kenya Film
Commission Peter Mutie, MD for Supersport Africa Gary Rathbone, MD Africa for
Intermedia Vivien Marie, and Joe Otin of Research and Monitoring director at Ipsos
Synovate. The founder of the East Africa Documentary Network, Mukura Were will
make a special presentation titled “local content development, success, and
hurdles”.
In attendance from West Africa’s Film industry, will be
Nollywood artistes, agents, and film executives. Speakers at the conference in
the occasion include Director of iROKOng Michael Ugwu, CEO of iROKOtv Jason Njoku,
Sola Green of Media Made in Africa, Eric Idiahi CEO of Nigeria’s Spinlet and
Royal Roots Communications Gregory Olumuya.
