Pivot East, previously known as the Pivot 25 is a regional
mobile apps/ developers competition. The pitching conference will take place from
tomorrow, 5th June to 6th at the Ole Sereni Hotel,
Nairobi.
The competition has five categories; Business and Resource
Management, Financial services, Entertainment, Mobile Society and Utilities.
This year’s theme being ‘Innovation and Enterprise’ the
event will address financial challenges in technology advancement, social
enterprise, entrepreneurship and the role of innovation in stimulating the
regional economy.
The overall winner will receive a fully paid five-day trip
to showcase at GITEX Technology Week in Dubai. While each winner in the five
categories will get $10,000 in prize money.
Last year’s competition received more than 100 applications
for the 25 slots available.
