Harambee Stars invited to play Jamaica



The national soccer team Harambee Stars has received a FIFA invitation to play in an international friendly against Jamaica’s Reggaeboyz on 25th August 2012, in Jamaica’s capital Kingston.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF), which has acknowledged receiving the invitation, is working on logistics before making a formal confirmation of the international friendly.  
The Reggaeboyz who are currently ranked 63rd by FIFA, stand as a formidable challenge to Stars who are in the 125th position. The Jamaican team carries a richer history of the two sides having played in the first round of the 1998 FIFA World Cup and ranking a higher 27th the same year.

In the Copa Coca-Cola: Coast Boys beat Eastern Boys 1-0 to lift the 2012 Copa Coca Cola boys trophy at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday.
Substitute Omar Mwinyi scored the solitary goal of the match while Ahmed Mahfudh was named the best player. Coast Boys were also recognized as the best disciplined team of the tournament.
The second runners up went to Central Boys who beat Western Boys 2-1.

In the girls’ division, Rift Valley claimed the girls’ title after MVP Ruth Chebungei strike sunk Western girls in a 1-0 showdown.
The second runners up went to Coast Girls who beat Nairobi 2-1.
