Biwott and Wangari win Falmouth Road Race



Stanley Biwott and compatriot Margeret Wangari-Muriuki emerged victorious in the 40th edition of New Balance Falmouth Road Race in Massachusetts on Sunday.
This came a week after the duo reigned supreme in the Beach to Beacon 10k Road Race, with Biwott and Wangari clocking 27:58.6 and 31:51.6 respectively.
26-year-old Biwott clinched the title in 31:59, edging out defending champion Lucas Rotich who finished in 32:01, in the closest finish in race history. Third place went to Stephen Kipkosgei-Kibet who came in 32:10 ahead of Kiplimo Kimutai (32:31) and Silas Kipruto (32:32).

In the women’s division, Wangari finished in 36:54 ahead of compatriot Emily Chebet and Ethiopia’s Wude Ayalew who clocked 36:57 and 36:58 respectively. Rita Jeptoo and Lineth Chepkurui came fourth and fifth posting times of 37:08 and 37:16.
