Chemos, Kiplangat win in Zurich Diamond League

Ethiopia’s Sofia Assefa was disqualified for lane violation leaving the women 3000m steeplechase title to Milcah Chemos at the 2012 Zurich Samsung Diamond League on Thursday night.
Milcah Chemos was earlier caught in the final hurdle before falling hard on the track to manage a tenth position finish (9:35.67). Her rival Sofia Assefa who powered to the finish line first in 9:21.32 was disqualified after officials found out she had stepped outside her lane to give Chemos the win with an aggregate of 12 points.
