“I decided to develop the app after I realized that I
was using Mpesa for a lot of my business and daily transactions, and I needed
good records that were readily available.” – Zebumob app developer
You can now track all your
Mpesa transactions, thanks to an innovative mobile application developed by
Muthuu Kagio.
The recently launched app, Zebumob for
Android phones easily identifies Mpesa messages (messages on money received,
sent, loaded, withdrawn, bills paid, and airtime purchased) on user’s phone and
categorizes them to find out how much one spends per month, week or day.
Mr. Kagio has already
signed a trademark agreement with Mpesa, and the app is also accessible to
Vodacom users in Tanzania and South Africa.
The app is free; however,
small businesses users who want to obtain a detailed report and analysis of
their transactions will have to pay a fee of Sh100 per month for the service.
According to its official
website, the app has the following features:
J Automatic
saving of all Mpesa transactions in the app as well as the official website.
J Categorizing
of all Mpesa transactions
J Option
to find out how much one sends, receives, withdraws, loads per day,
week, month or year.
J Printing
out ones Mpesa statement
J And
a robust password protection
To download the app go to
Google Play on your android phone > Search for Zebumob > Install the free
app > Login to http://zebumob.com/ to
print out your statement (into an excel spreadsheet).
Mpesa was launched 5 years
ago and has over 15 million users in Kenya; with more than half of the entire
world’s mobile-money transactions going through the Safaricom’s product,
Safaricom is arguably the world’s market leader in mobile money transfer.
Happy 14th Birthday, Google!
