Pamela Jelimo made another impressive show after the London
Games at the 2012 ISATF Berlin crossing the finish line in 1:58.68 to win.
Burundi’s Francine Niyonsaba followed her in 1:58.78 ahead of Ethiopia’s Abeba Aregawi
(1:59.39).
Jelimo will be back in action later this week for the last
leg of the Samsung Diamond League in Brussels, Belgium.
In the men’s 1500m, Nixon Chepseba continued to show his dominance
in the event, leading a clean Kenyan 1-2-3-4 finish of Bethwell Birgen (3:33.41),
Caleb Mwangagi (3:33.43), and Collins Cheboi (3:33.58) in respective order.
In the men’s 800m, Edwin Kiplangat came in second (1:44.36)
behind World Indoor champion Mohammed Aman who finished in 1:43.62. Kenya’s
Leonardo Konsencha came in fourth at 1:45.18.
In the women’s 3000m steeplechase, Lydia Chepkrui (9:22.27) finished
behind a gallant Sofia Assefa of Ethiopia who posted a time of 9:21.64. The two
were followed by Hyvin Kiyeng (9:27.29), Eunice Jepkorir (9:30.42), Mercy
Njoroge (9:32.32), and Ruth Bosibori (9:32.81) respectively.
