Kenya to open CHAN campaign against Burundi

The recently released draw for the preliminary, first and second round qualifiers of the 3rd edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) has seen Kenya start its campaign against Burundi.
The two sides will face each other in a two-legged encounter with the first match being played in Bujumbura for a date between 30th November and 2nd December while the return match set for Nairobi between 14th and 16th December.
If Kenya wins the tie, it will proudly progress to the first round where it will meet Sudan for a two-legged knockout.
Winners from the first round will progress to the second round, where 15 winners will emerge to join hosts South Africa in the finals.
Harambee Stars who are in the Central-East Zone, are pooled alongside Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Eritrea, and are optimistic under the new coach Henri Michel.
The draw for the 2014 African Nations Championships (CHAN) was released on Thursday at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
DR Congo won the inaugural CHAN in 2009 while Tunisia took the title in 2011.
