David Dunford finished third in Heat 5, failing to qualify
for the semifinals of the 50m freestyle at the Aquatics Centre in the ongoing
London Olympics on Thursday.
Dunford posted a time of 22.72 seconds, missing the semis for the second time after he failed to qualify on Tuesday in the 100m Freestyle.
The top three qualifiers were George Bovell from Trinidad
and Tobago with 21.77 seconds, Brazil’s Cesar Cielo with 21.80 and Brazil’s
Bruno Fratus with 21.82 seconds.
Kenya hopes now turn to his elder brother, Jason Dunford who
will be in action today in the men’s 100m butterfly.
