Kenyan Paralympics Team to the 2012 London Olympics



London 2012 Paralympics Games kicks off today with the much-anticipated opening ceremony dubbed ‘Enlightenment’ and the athlete parade where 4,000 athletes from 162 countries will match donning their national colors in pride.   
Kenya will be looking to continue with its good performance at the games after scooping nine medals (five gold, three silver and one bronze) and finishing 26th overall in the Beijing Games four years ago.  
The Kenyan squad is led by triple gold medalists Henry Kirwa who is keen to defend three titles at the 14th Paralympics in London.
This year Kenya has 16 participants competing in seven different categories at the Games.

David Korir-T13 (800m and 1500m)
Hanah Ng'endo - T12 (100m, 200m, and 400m)
Henry Nzungi-T13 (200m and 400m)
Mary Nakhumicha- F57 (javelin, discuss and shot-put)
David Boit (Javelin)
Samuel Mushai- T11 (1500m)
Egla Mosop - T12 (1500m)
Nelly Nasimiyu-T12 (400m)

The Paralympics will run from Wednesday, August 29th to Sunday, September 9th.
