Wilson Chebet retained his title at the 37th
edition of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon in Netherland’s capital on Sunday.
The 27 year-old finished in a time of 2:05.41 to break the course
record of 2:05.44 set by Ethiopia’s Getu Feleke in 2010. Bentayehu Assefa and
Abrha Gebretsadik from Ethiopia came in second and third, both posting a time
of 2:06.22.
In the women race, it was an Ethiopian 1-2 finish led by Meseret
Hailu (2:21.09) and Genet Ketani leaving Kenya’s Diana Chepkemoi to settle for
third place.
