Kenya has recently experienced ambitious projects including Tatu
City, Thika Greens, and Migaa in Kiambu County; now another groundbreaking
project is set to kick off in Kenya’s North-Rift. Known as the Sergoit Golf and
Wildlife Resorts, the 40billion-shilling leisure and property development plan will
be located 15 km northeast of Kenya’s fifth largest town, Eldoret in Uasin Gishu
County.
The project was commissioned on Saturday with prospective
real estate investors gracing the groundbreaking ceremony.
Built on a 3100-acre piece of land, the gated community will
feature over 2,000 villas, a five-star hotel, 3 golf courses (nine hole, 18
hole exclusive membership & nine hole active retirement golf course), a
shopping mall, a private hospital, a conference centre and an airstrip while maintaining
a wildlife sanctuary.
A world-class sporting city is also set to be incorporated
in the plan. The facility will promote sports tourism in the country, as Uasin
Gishu is known all over the world for its ideal high altitude training.
According to developers the project will be complete by 2016.
