After remaining closed for close to ten years, the Malawian
High Commission in Nairobi is set to re-open in a move geared at strengthening relations
between the two nations.
Plans by the Malawian government were revealed on Saturday,
when President Mwai Kibaki and Malawian President Joyce Banda met at Speke
Resort in Kampala, during the ongoing 16th Common Market for Eastern
and Southern Africa (COMESA) Heads of State Summit.
Revamping the Kenya-Malawi Joint Permanent Commission that
used to meet every two years was top of the agenda in the meeting.
