Mr. Muthomi, the owner of Stawi Food and Fruits Ltd was named the winner of the Jitihada Business Plan Competition and was awarded
Ksh 1 million. The Meru-based company processes green banana obtained from the
locals into flour that can be used in making porridge, ugali, soup dishes and
baking.
Jitihada Business Plan Competition is coordinated by the
Ministry of Industrialisation and funded by the World Bank. The initiative that
is in second phase is meant to honor Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
innovative ideas in the country’s economic growth.
