A five-member panel of judges announced 12 finalists for the
second edition of EAC Media Awards, last Friday. The 12 selected journalists
are now in contention for the overall EAC Secretary General’s Award.
Kenya produced five finalists; George Omondi (Business Daily), Wanjohi Kabukuru (Africa Business / Diplomat), Wickliffe A Odera (Milele FM), Robert
Koigi (African Laughter News Agency), and Aby Agina Wasonga (NTV).
Other prizes that are up for grabs in the East African Business
Council Chairman’s Award include the Health; Environment; Agriculture and Food
Security; Broadcast; Political; and
Higher Education reporting awards.
