Chef Ali receives International Hall Of Fame Award



23-year-old chef Ali Said Mandhry was honoured with an International Hall Of Fame Award by Celebrity TV chefs Zane Beg and Norman Davis during a chef workshop held at the Sarova Whitesands in Mombasa. Chef Ali becomes the first Kenyan to ever receive such an award.

He represented the country at the cake artistry talent competition in the US where he made a masterpiece cake. The 20kg cake comprised of three parts with the top tier resembling a calabash, second tier was a pot with painted Maasai woman illustrations and the bottom tier made of assorted wild animals skin. It was donated to Tom Mboya Cerebral palsy school in Mombasa.
