International Acclaim for Tales from the Bush Larder Show
Tales from the Bush Larder, Kenyan culinary adventures of internationally-renowned chef Kiran Jethwa has entered into a deal with Fox International Channels (FIC). The deal will see FIC acquire global distribution rights for the popular TV show.
The show which traverses the country for traditional and exotic ingredients has been airing exclusively on Zuku TV's Zuku Afrika since the 6th of September and is expected to be released on FIC's leading lifestyle channel 24Kitchen.
FIC owns the Tales from the Bush Larder’s exclusive Pay-TV rights for worldwide distribution, excluding North America and Africa where Zuku will be in-charge of the distribution.

2013 Taste Awards Gala Set for 31st January
Taste Awards 2013 will take place on Thursday January 31, 2013 at Karura Forest, in the outskirts of Nairobi.
The awards seek to acknowledge, appreciate and praise Nairobi’s vibrant dining and entertainment culture.
Time: From 7:00pm till 2am

Zuku acquires Ligue 1 Rights in Kenya
East Africa’s leading Pay TV provider Zuku has secured the Kenyan
broadcast rights to French top division, Ligue 1 for the next three seasons.
Through its customized Zuku Sports, five live matches and
five games will be broadcasted on short-delay from each of Ligue’s 1 38 rounds.
The Zuku coverage also comes with weekly previews and highlights shows.
Wananchi Group programming
managing director Hannelie Bekker confirmed the Zuku acquisition last week.
Zuku, which is owned by Wananchi Group Holdings, also offers
other customized programmes that include Zuku Africa and Zuku Life.
The acquisition hopes to give the firm an edge in the competitive
Pay TV market dominated by South Africa’s DSTV (English Premier League
exclusive right holders) and latest entrant Chinese StarTimes.
Apart from being a Pay TV service provider, Zuku Kenya provides
broadband internet connectivity with speeds as high as 20Mbps including a VoIP telephony
service to residential areas and offices through fibre-optic cables.

Zuku recently launched an exciting cooking show titled ‘Tales
from the Bushlarder’. The show takes viewers to a culinary tour of Kenya and
her unusual and unknown gastronomic delights.
The show, which is hosted by Chef Kiran Jethwa airs on Zuku
Africa Ch. 100 and Zuku.
Catch Chef Kiran every Thursday at 8:30pm as he searches for
ingredients in the ‘bush larder’.
Chef Kiran is the owner of Nairobi’s Seven Seafood &
Grill.

Chef Ali receives International Hall Of Fame Award
23-year-old chef Ali Said Mandhry was honoured with an International
Hall Of Fame Award by Celebrity TV chefs Zane Beg and Norman Davis during a
chef workshop held at the Sarova Whitesands in Mombasa. Chef Ali becomes the
first Kenyan to ever receive such an award.
He represented the country at the cake artistry talent competition
in the US where he made a masterpiece cake. The 20kg cake comprised of three
parts with the top tier resembling a calabash, second tier was a pot with
painted Maasai woman illustrations and the bottom tier made of assorted wild
animals skin. It was donated to Tom Mboya Cerebral palsy school in Mombasa.
