Jason Dunford qualified for the 100m butterfly semis after
finishing fourth in heat 5 at the Aquatics Centre in London on Thursday.
The Commonwealth champion posted a time of 52.23 seconds to
be ranked 15th overall out of the permitted 16 qualifiers.
Freshly crowned 100m freestyle winner Chad Clos from South
Africa won the heat in 51.54 ahead of Polish Konrad Czerniak who recorded a
time of 51.85. Third place went to German Stefan Deibler with 51.92.
Earlier in the day, Jason’s younger brother David failed toqualify for the Semi’s after finishing third in the 50m freestyle dashing hishopes in the London Olympics.
