St. Anthony’s Boys High School are the 2012 Airtel Rising Stars,
Kenya National School ball games champions after defeating Upper Hill School from Nairobi 2-0 in the final
played at Shanzu Teachers College, Mombasa on Saturday.
The Kitale side got an opening in the 31st minute
with Kenya U-20 striker Meshack Karani taking to the spot to drive a
spectacular strike. They went along to seal the win in the 68th
minute with another confident finish from Kennedy Simiyu.
Third place went to Kakamega High School who beat last year’s
champions Gekomoni High School from Nyanza 2-1.
St. Anthony, runners-up Upper Hill and Kakamega High School will
all represent the country at the East African School’s championships in Burundi
later in the month.
