WordCamp Kenya 2012 will
be held on November 10th and 11th at Maanzoni Lodge along Mombasa Road.
The 2-day event, which is
organized by the world’s most popular blogging and online publishing software,
WordPress, comes with a campfire dinner and party set for that Saturday night.
Expected at the informal gathering are WordPress enthusiasts,
bloggers, podcasters, developers, and designers as well as marketers and other
ICT professionals.
This year’s theme is Responsible Blogging and Positive
Social Media Influence and focus will mainly be on the role of social
media in communication as well as aspects of blogging, social media, and
digital publishing.
The 2012 event is expected to be bigger and better after the
success of the inaugural WordCamp Kenya, which was held last year in
Fisherman’s Camp, Naivasha with 215 people attending.
Uganda and Tanzania will
be streaming the event live with a sitting audience of 100 people expected in Uganda’s
Outbox Hub and 80 more in Tanzania’s Kinu Innovation Hub.
Sponsors for the
event include Orange Kenya (Title Sponsor), CODE Poet, Kenya ICT Board, ICT
Consultants, Niaje, ThemeFuse, and Whive.com.
