Celebrated footballer Samuel Osei Kuffour will grace the
ninth edition of the Sports Personality of the Year Awards (SOYA) Gala slated
for Thursday night at the Carnivore.
The former Ghana and Bayern Munich defender Samuel will arrive in the country on early hours of Thursday morning before the awards ceremony.
Kuffour is the youngest Olympic Football Champion of
all-time, winning bronze at the 1992 Olympics with Ghana just before his 16th
birthday. He made one appearance for his country during the 2006 World Cup
finals, against Italy.
At Bayern Munich, he enjoyed great success winning the 2001
UEFA Champions League and 16 other major titles in his 11-year stay at the
Bundesliga club.
He had spells with AS Roma, Livorno and Ajax as well as
featuring for the Black Stars from 1993 to 2006 (59 appearances).
