Taj Hotels Planning for Kenya Entry

Tata Group, which is famous in Kenya for its trucks business and its recent publicized takeover of the Landrover/Jaguar franchise from embattled CMC is seeking to venture into the Kenyan market with a new product.

According to information reaching us, the Indian conglomerate through its hotel division Taj Hotels  is raring to enter the market with startup properties in the capital, Nairobi and at the coast, before expanding further.

Taj Hotels opened their first hotel on African soil in 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa and has been doing well in the competitive hospitality sector; an affirmation by the recent opening of Marakech, a luxury resort in Morocco.

Kenya appears to be the target of global hospitality players with the opening of the new Villa Rosa Nairobi Kempinski and the expected venture by Hemingways Hotel in Karen, Nairobi.
