The Computer Society of Kenya (CSK) held the 17th
edition of Kenya ICT Pinnacle Awards gala on Thursday evening at the Laico
Regency Hotel.
Dubbed ‘Night with the Stars’, the awards ceremony brought
together individuals and companies that have made outstanding contributions in
the Information and Communication Technology industry.
Kenya’s first bank to offer cash-to-cash remittances and
mobile banking, Postbank Kenya was among the biggest winners of the evening, scooping
two awards, ‘Branchless Bank in Kenya’ and ‘Outstanding Leadership in Enhancing
Productivity Award’.
Over the years, the state owned bank has engaged in
strategic affiliations with various organizations (Chase Bank, Housing Finance,
NIC Bank and Essar’s Yu Cash) and introduced innovative products such as Smata
Account, contributing towards its achievements in the financial scene.
The bank, which boasts of a well-distributed clientele base
in both urban and rural Kenya, recently bagged two awards, ‘Best in Productivity
and Quality Service’ and ‘First runners up CEO of the Year’ during the 2012
Company of Year Awards (COYA) held at the Carnivore Grounds, Nairobi.
