‘Flash’ Tundo Wins Guru Nanak Rally 2012

Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo driving his Mitsubishi Evo9 won the 33^rd edition of the Guru Nanak Rally to make it 6 wins in the 2012 KCB Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) series.

Navigated by his sister Natasha ‘Tash’ Di Cangio, he posted a course time of 1.38.10 to win his third Guru Nanak Rally after that in 2009 and 2010. Natasha made history by becoming the first woman in close to 30 years to win a round of the KNRC series.

Carl Tundo wins Nanyuki KCB Rally

Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo outpaced his fellow competitors to be crowned the winner of the KCB Advantage Banking Rally held on Saturday in Nanyuki.

Navigated by Tim Jessop in a Mitsubishi Evo9, Tundo bagged his second career Nanyuki rally win ahead of Alastair Cavenagh and Baldev Chager who came second and third respectively for the podium finish.

This is Tundo’s fourth victory in the 2012 KNRC season having won the Nyeri, Nakuru and Safari rally. He has a 75-points championship lead ahead of veteran Ian Duncan who dropped from the rally after his car developed mechanical problems.

Rally King, Ian Duncan

Born in June 23, 1961 Ian Duncan stands in the Crème de la crème of Kenya rally drivers. He held the Kenyan National Rally Champion a record six times (1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2000, & 2011). He also recorded a remarkable win in the 1994, 42^nd Trustbank Safari Rally (World Rally Championship) driving Toyota Celica Turbo 4WD navigated by David Williamson.
