Longhorn Publishers debuts in Nairobi Securities Exchange



The educational materials publisher is the latest listed company in the NSE as of Today. Longhorn Kenya Ltd listed Ksh 58.5 million existing shares at 14 shillings by introduction, which means it won’t raise new capital. At 0808 GMT, its shares traded at Ksh 20 shillings but could end the day lower.  

The company has an expansive reach with units outside Kenya that include Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and now in Malawi. Longhorn becomes the first publisher to be listed in the NSE and the second to list by introduction after TransCentury in July.

Top six of the company’s shareholders are:
1. Centum Investments Company Ltd (with 34.90%)
2. Pacific Futures & Options Ltd (with 23.93%)
3. Francis Thombe Nyammo (Chairman with 10.95%)
4. Mureka Investments Ltd (with 2.74%)
5. Kamami Investments Ltd (with 2.12%)
6. Text Book Centre Ltd (with 1.95%)
