Neural tech to bolster Mpesa Platform Security

Kenya’s leading mobile network operator Safaricom has hired the services of UK-based tech firm Neural Technologies to implement a fraud management system to further protect its mobile payment platform, MPESA.
“We regularly review the functionality of our fraud systems so that we can safeguard our clients transactions and so be worthy of the trust they have vested on us,” said Safaricom’s CEO, Bob Collymore.
The Neural Technologies’ Minotaur™ Fraud Management Solution will be deployed on all its business lines including the MPESA money transfer platform.
Minotaur™ incorporates a powerful case management environment that facilitates the process of case investigation and enables proactive fraud identification via an innovative data mining functionality.
Safaricom now joins the likes of Zain Bahrain who deployed the system back in July.
