Pamela Jelimo reigns at the Lausanne Diamond League



2008 Olympic champion Pamela Jelimo emerged victorious in the women’s 800 metres race at the Athletissima IAAF Diamond League meet in Lausanne, Switzerland.  
She maintained her pace and finished in a time of 1:57.59 ahead of newly crowned Olympic champion Mariya Savinova from Russia.  

The thrilling Thursday night also saw Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake become the second fastest man in history after winning the 100m in 9.69. United States Tyson Gay (9.83) and fellow compatriot Nesta Carter who posted a time of 9.95 followed him.
In the 200m race, the world’s fastest-man Usain Bolt won easily posting a meet-record time of 19.58 behind his Olympic time of 19.32.
