Gospel artistes Juliani and Ringtone were on Saturday
honored at the 3rd edition of the Golden Mic Awards held at Florida
2000 club, Nairobi.
The annual Golden Mic Awards celebrate personalities
who have made outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry after
starting their careers at Florida 2000 (F2) Nightclub’s jam session shows.
Other personalities who were honored at the event sponsored
by the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) include Kenzo, Kingsting, DNA,
and Emmanuel Banda of Ogopa Djs.
In 2011, rapper CMB
Prezzo, Wyre, P-Unit, Size 8, Jimw@t, Trapee, and Collo were honored.
F2 is credited with the launch of careers of top
artistes in the region including Kalamashaka, Gidi Gidi Maji Maji, Chameleone, the
late Poxy Presha, Redsan, Bebe cool, Jaguar, Hardstone, Kanda King, Kriss
Darlin, Dj Kariz, Dj Mdosi, Dj Kay Dee, Dj Babu, choreographer Edu, and
comedian Fred Omondi.
