Veteran international umpire Jackie Jan Mohamed of Sir Ali
Club is the new chairperson of Cricket Kenya.
Jackie who was nominated unanimously as the Nairobi
Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) candidate for the post, was also elected
unopposed to become the first woman to chair a national cricket board.
The accomplished lawyer will replace the outgoing
chairperson Samir Inamdar; and has said that she will unite the cricket
fraternity and work together with the management team to grow the sport in the country.
Other officials who were elected on Sunday at the Ruaraka
Sports Club include Anil Patel (vice-chairperson), Chidam Subramanian (treasurer),
and Kalpesh Solanki (development director).
