Portugal opened the score-sheet with a try from Duarte Moreira and a conversion by Pedro Leal in the second minute.Willy Ambaka later broke Portugal's defense to score with Biko Adema converting to make it a 7-7 draw.
Ending the first half Kenya was ahead 12-7 after an unconverted try from Dennis Ombachi.
In the opening minutes of the second half Portugal's Federico Oliveira equalized with an unconverted try leaving the score 12-12.
A last-second drop goal from Biko Adema ensured Kenya was through to the cups semis.
Kenya will face Wales at 11.06 am Kenyan Time.
